It’s no secret; Americans love their mobile devices. So much so that 90% of cell phone owners in America sleep with their phone right next to their beds, and 65% actually sleep with it! (www.pewresearch.org).

How’s that for a shocking title? I thought I’d try it as a cheap attention getter. But then it occurred to me that if you aren’t willing to take risks to keep your business alive, you’re in trouble.

Was it inevitable? Am I taking it too hard?

When Rosemary Clooney sang the Coronet Paper Towel song, I wrote it off to my parents generation being lame sellouts.  I remember the revelation, “She probably had a bunch of back taxes to pay. Give her a break.”

I try to hit the movies every Sunday afternoon. Usually alone, occasionally with company. Going to the movies by myself is something I’ve loved doing since I was in college in the Big Easy.

Big mountain skiing pioneer Dean Cummings has partnered with H2O Outdoor Gear to create a new line of skiis including the Karen ‘cito’ , the Kodiak, and the Tazlina.
ASPEN, Colo.—He may have been born in New Mexico, but over the course of one of the most storied careers in big-mountain skiing, Dean Cummings has come to symbolize Alaska nearly as much as Sarah Palin, Kodiak bears and oil pipelines have.

There's nothing more pathetic than an out of work DJ. I used to think there was no one more insecure than a radio personality. (That sounds so much better than DJ.) Then I learned there is−an out of work radio personality.

Indy Pass to highlight Pro Cycling Challenge

The inaugural USA Pro Cycling Challenge of 2011 set the bar high. To open the epic by blowing away every imaginable record in sight was un-expected to say the least, but a problem that organizers were more than happy to deal with. And deal with it they did, in spades. This is fair warning people, set your calendars for Aug. 22-23 to be in Aspen, CO for the back to back Independence Pass stages 3 and 4, that will certainly be one of the parties of the century so far. I hope the U.S. Forest Service is ready.

The Aspen/Snowmass real estate market gets more attention than any other resort market, and it seems sometimes more headlines than any other real estate market in the world. A lot of the interest and press centers around the occasional “monster” sale, or more recently some of the failed development projects that are getting a new lease on life as the economy recovers. The local real estate market also gets its fair share of performance coverage, “how does this year compare to last year?”, or “are prices still going down?”, and so on.
