Monthly Outlook: August 2011.  Global stocks rallied for the first four trading days of July but drifted lower thereafter.  For July, the U.S. S&P500 was down -2.15%, and the International MSCI was down -2.69%.  Bonds held up with a modest gain of +0.82%.  The S&P500 ended July almost exactly where it ended January, six months earlier.  But it has certainly flip-flopped as much as the politicians in Washington, with equally flat results.
