Early bird discount local's passes on sale for AMFS

ASPEN, Colo.—Roaring Fork Valley residents will receive a significant discount on their Aspen Music Festival tickets this summer. The AMFS Local’s Pass offers ten admissions for only $15.00 each ($150) through May 31. The price increases June 1 to $175 and to $200 July 1 and after. This picture pass allows the purchaser to receive six tickets for concerts and four tickets for rehearsals/master classes.

Theatre Aspen announces casting for 2012 season

ASPEN, Colo—Theatre Aspen today announced casting for its summer season, opening with the Tony Award-winning musical comedy Avenue Q, on June 25th. The season also includes the new musical How I Became a Pirate, based on the beloved children’s book by Melinda Long (July 10th – Aug 18th) and the film noir thriller The 39 Steps (July 25th – Aug 18th).

JAS Band Battle at Sopris Park held in conjunction with Dandelion Days

ASPEN, CO—Band Battle ’12 returns this Saturday, May 12 from 1-5pm at Sopris Park in Carbondale.  Presented by Jazz Aspen Snowmass, Band Battle features 14 student bands performing over four hours.  Bands represent students from across the entire Roaring Fork Valley and beyond.

Bob Hurst voted board chair of Aspen Music Festival

ASPEN, Colo.—Robert Hurst was elected as board chair of the Aspen Music Festival and school, according to a recent anouncement from the Music Festival. Hurst replaces Kay Bucksbaum, who stepped down after almost two years in the position.

Music Festival board chair steps down

ASPEN, Colo.—Kay Bucksbaum, the chair of the board of trustees of the Aspen Music Festival and School has stepped down for health reasons according to a press release from AMFS. Bucksbaum will remain closely involved with the institution and will remain a voting member of the 50-person board of trustees but will relinquish her leadership role immediately.

5th Annual Monothon at Anderson Ranch
