July 14, 2011, 4:47 pm

Aspen, Colo.—The Aspen Institute welcomes professional cyclist Lance Armstrong, founder and chairman of LIVESTRONG, in conversation with Aspen Institute President and CEO Walter Isaacson. The event will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 28 in the Greenwald Pavilion on the Institute’s Aspen Meadows campus.

Seven-time winner of the Tour de France and a cancer survivor, Lance Armstrong created the Lance Armstrong Foundation in 1997. The organization is now known publicly by its brand, LIVESTRONG, and is a leader in the global movement on behalf of 28 million people living with cancer worldwide.

Known for its iconic yellow wristband, LIVESTRONG has become a symbol of hope and inspiration to people affected by cancer around the world. Since its inception, the organization has raised more than $400 million for the fight against cancer. With his continued involvement with the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the cancer community, Armstrong serves as a constant reminder that in the battle with cancer, unity is strength, knowledge is power and attitude is everything.

Tickets for the event are $15 each and will go on sale on July 15. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Wheeler Opera House, online at www.aspenshowtix.com or by calling 970-920-5770. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the event, and unclaimed tickets will be on sale at the door.
