ASPEN, Colo.—Wade H. King, M.D., has joined Aspen based Obermeyer Asset Management Company as Vice President, Investments and Client Advisory.

In his role, Wade will collaborate with the Obermeyer team on investment security selection and strategic initiatives, and manage certain client relationships. He will work out of Obermeyer’s Aspen office and become the sixth member of the firm’s Investment Committee.

Dr. King comes to Obermeyer from NeoMend, Inc, a private healthcare company, where he most recently served as Executive Vice President, Strategy and Business Development. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Finance for the firm.

Prior to his operating role at NeoMend, Dr. King spent more than a decade specializing in research and investment selection, holding senior and management positions at Robertson Stephens, Wells Fargo, Montgomery & Co. and Sirius Advisors. He earned several accolades for his investment research and was awarded “All Star Analyst” by the Wall Street Journal, Starmine, Zacks, and Street.com.

“The kind of investment analysis we do for our clients requires an especially high level of expertise,” says Wally Obermeyer, President of Obermeyer Asset Management, “and that’s precisely what Wade is bringing to this new position. Our company and our clients will be well served by his arrival.”

Before moving to the financial industry, Dr. King was a practicing physician, including a term as Chief of Anesthesiology for a Silicon Valley-based hospital.

He was awarded a B.A. at Princeton University, where he graduated cum laude, and a master’s degree at Stanford Business School. He earned his M.D. and Master of Public Health degrees at the University of North Carolina Schools of Medicine and Public Health.
